CellCards: An Integrative Knowledgebase for Cells and Cell Connectomes
CellCards.org systematically collects and annotates two types of cards: (i) Cell Type Cards for individual cell types, such as podocyte, and (ii) Cell Connectome Cards for individual cell connectomes, where a connectome is defined as a group of cell types that collectively form a functional unit, such as renal corpuscle and Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS).
Cards of Cell Types:
Cell type cards focus on individual cell types such as:
- Podocyte. See: manually generated podocyte card, dynamically generated podocyte card, and literature mined results - "Podoctye-LM".
- Worm excretory cell (manually generated page).
- Fly pericardial nephrocyte (manually generated page).
Cards of Cell Connectomes:
Two types of cell connectome cards are covered: (i) Connectomes of cells that are in direct or proximate contact and work together as a functional unit (e.g., renal corpuscle connectome for blood-filtering), and (ii) Connectomes of cells that functionally connected via networks of messaging molecules such as hormones and cytokines (e.g., RAAS cell connectome):
- Renal corpuscle cell connectome, which includes >10 cell types including podocyte.
- RAAS cell connectome.
